But he always wonders the motivations there, if Nier didn't love him, why did he want a child with him? He still doesn't have an answer.
Even his shows of affection get a response of surprise and confusion rather than affection in return. Like now. Nanami tries not to look back at Nier after he gives him the kiss because he knows he'll just see surprise on his face and nothing else. He's not sure he can handle that right now.
